Bee attacks are on the rise, due to them being out more during this weather.  Be cautious around your home (check for hives); walking your dog, etc.  This particular dog died in the arms of his owner (after they returned from a church outing).  When a bee removal service arrived, they found over 25,000 bees in this particular hive.  To read more about this story from the Dog News Examiner and my favorite writer, Penny Elms, click on:

I am asked all the time what my favorite dog breed is and my answer is always the same--Pit Bulls.  Pit Bulls are always given a bad rap...they're too dangerous...be careful he/she will bite your head off, etc.  Pits learn from their owners.  If they are taught to be agressive, than yes they will become agressive.  I have several pit bulls in my care.  Willabean is part pit and she's the most sweetest dog ever.  This morning, as I was cruising the net looking through videos & articles regarding shelters & rescue groups, I am always asked why I post such sad stories.  My answer?  To save just one dog.  I recently came across a story, "Just One Dog" about a dog in a high kill shelter in LA.  It's heartbreaking, sad & happy all rolled into one.  Did I cry?  You betcha!!!  This is a story of Stanley.....Just One Dog.  I have uploaded the video on our "Adoption/Rescue" page, so check it out.
